Okay... Posting again, because my Yachiru/Ururu fic was requested :p.

Before reading, keep in mind that I've only seen episodes 1-5 of Bleach, so I had to go by my boyfriend's descriptions of Yachiru and Ururu, which were "Yachiru = spaz" and "Ururu = non-spaz". So, I apologize for any character inaccuracies. xD;

So, um...enjoy, I guess :p

Title: Ice Cream
Chapter: N/A
Author Name: Patamon
Rating: G?
Short Summary: As Yachiru goes to visit Ururu, she thinks back to when they first met, and what happened when they first went out for ice cream.
Pairing: Yachiru/Ururu (They're older than they are in the series. Teens, or something. :P)

Yachiru whistled to herself as she hurried down the street to the store. She visited the store frequently, and sometimes others would question her frequent visits, but she never told them the truth. It wasn’t that she was ashamed, but she rather enjoyed the secrecy of it all. They just liked it that way.

* * *

[begin flashback]

The little bell on the door jingled as Yachiru entered the shop. Noticing that no one was at the counter, she looked around for someone who could help her. She spotted a girl in the corner with a broom. Her black hair was in pigtails, and her head was bent down, focused on her task.

“Excuse me!” Yachiru called to the girl.

The girl stopped sweeping and looked up.

“Oh, I’m sorry. Can I help you with something?”

Upon seeing the girl’s face, Yachiru’s heart beat a little faster. This girl was cute, she decided.

“Kenpachi’s having trouble with his sword again. Something with the power... So I need something that will help!”

The girl’s expression turned to one of concentration, and then she walked over to one of the shelves. She pulled a green box off the shelf.

“This is a good one. It’s a little expensive, though,” she held out the box.

“Oh, that’s okay! Ken-chan gave me lots of money!” Yachiru grinned.

“Oh… Um… Do you need anything else?”

Yachiru suddenly felt the urge to give the girl a hug. She wondered how the girl would smell. She shook these urges and curiosities out of her mind.

“Nope! That’s all for today,” she handed the girl some money.

“Thank you. Please come back soon,” the girl bowed slightly.

As Yachiru was walking out the door, she stopped, turned around, and asked the girl her name.

“Ururu,” the girl replied in a quiet voice.

“I’m Yachiru! See you later!” she said.

Ururu gave a slight wave as Yachiru hurried out the door with the box clutched against her chest.

As Yachiru headed home, she thought about the girl. Ururu. She was very shy, and Yachiru wanted to bring this girl out of her shell.

When Yachiru returned home, she gave the box to Kenpachi. The contents of the box were somewhat helpful, but not entirely. Something was still a bit off with his sword power.

“I’ll go back tomorrow! I bet they’ve got something better!” Yachiru was eager to go back and see Ururu again.

Tomorrow arrived, and Yachiru went to the store again. She hoped Ururu would be working again. Yachiru couldn’t understand why she wanted to see Ururu so badly. She didn’t understand why she felt extra giddy as she headed to the store. These new feelings were different, but she didn’t mind.

“The bell jingled as yachiru opened the shop door. Ururu looked up immediately from her sweeping, as though she had been waiting for someone. She smiled when she saw Yachiru.

“Oh, Yachiru,” she blushed. “Do you need something?”

“Ken-chan’s still having some trouble. Do you have anything else?”

“Um… Yes, there is one thing. Wait here,” Ururu turned and went into a supply closet. She emerged with a dark bottle. “There’s some powder in there that should help. Don’t expose it t too much light. It’s dangerous when it gets too much light exposure.”

“Thanks!” Yachiru paid for the bottle, and then paused. “Hey, do you work every day?”

“Almost. Just not on Sundays, and tomorrow I’ll be leaving early.”

“What time tomorrow?”

“Um... Around noon.”

“Okay! Let’s do something fun! I’ll meet you here!” Yachiru grinned.

“O-okay,” Ururu blushed.

Yachiru noticed the girl’s flushed cheeks, and wondered if she was having strange feelings too. She hoped.

When Yachiru returned the next day, Ururu was outside waiting. She smiled when she saw Yachiru, and Yachiru gave an energetic wave.

“Ururu! Hi!”

“Hi,” she bowed her head.

“Do you like ice cream? I know of a really good place!”

“Yes, I do.”

“Okay! Let’s go!” Yachiru grabbed Ururu’s arm, and Ururu hurried along behind her.

Yachiru bubbled with conversation as the two walked to the ice cream shop. Ururu mainly listened, but she inserted her own bits now and then. Yachiru felt giddy as she entered the shop. She wanted to share ice cream with Ururu, but she wasn’t quite sure yet if Ururu was also having the strange feelings.

“I like strawberry ice cream! What do you like?” Yachiru asked.

“I like the green tea flavor. It’s really good.”

“That one’s good too,” Yachiru grinned.

“Oh, um,” Ururu began, “I can pay.”

“Are you sure? I’ve got money.”

“No, it’s fine,” Ururu blushed. “I don’t mind.”

The two girls ordered their ice cream, and then they went outside to sit and eat. It was a warm day, and the ice cream was melting quickly. Suddenly, Yachiru’s ice cream fell from her cone and splattered on the ground.

“Aww!” Yachiru frowned. “It broke!”

“Oh, here, we can share mine,” Ururu offered.

“Thanks!”

The two girls sat in silence, sharing Ururu’s green tea ice cream. Suddenly, Ururu began to giggle.

“What is it?” Yachiru was confused.

“You’ve got ice cream all over your mouth. It looks funny,” she continued giggling.

“Oh!” Yachiru lifted up her hand to wipe her mouth, but Ururu pulled it down.

“Um...here,” she said. Then she leaned in and kissed the other girl. Yachiru was surprised, but she didn’t pull away. Instead, she allowed herself to be taken in to the kiss. Ururu’s mouth was sweet, like the ice cream. Her mouth was cool, but her lips were warm. When they separated, Ururu cast her eyes downward.

“I shouldn’t have been so forward. That wasn’t like me.”

“No, it’s okay. I didn’t mind. And besides, you got the ice cream off,” Yachiru grinned. She took Ururu’s hand in her own. The other girl blushed and smiled.
[End flashback]

* * *

The bell gave its familiar jingle as Yachiru entered the shop. Ururu was putting some items on a shelf, but she turned around upon hearing the bell, and smiled when she saw Yachiru.

It was a warm day. Yachiru wondered if Ururu would want to go out for ice cream again.
