Later that night, after everyone had long gone to bed, Yoruichi padded her way through the house, to Kūkaku's sitting room. Yoruichi wasn't entirely surprised to see that their hostess had left the door opened just enough for her to squeeze inside, or that she looked as if she'd been awaiting her arrival.
"Hm..." Kūkaku said, casually tapping the butt of her extra pipe against her lip, when she noticed that Yoruichi had entered the room.
"What?" Yoruichi asked, arching an eyebrow as she made her way over to where her old friend was seated.
Kūkaku shrugged. "It's just weird, is all. Even after all these years."
"Let me guess; me in cat form?" Yoruichi sat down in front of her.
Kūkaku nodded. "Don't get me wrong," she said quickly, "there's nothing wrong with cats or being one. It's just once you've experienced the pleasure of seeing you in your true form, well..." she waved a hand around to try to prove her point.
"Ah. I see." Yoruichi purred. "Perhaps I should change?"
Kūkaku shrugged again. "If you want. I know being a cat makes you comfortable, so whatever." She was trying her best to be nonchalant about the whole thing, but was obviously failing at it. Truth be told, she wanted nothing more than to see Yoruichi in her true form again. It had been too long since Yoruichi's last visit and even longer still, since she appeared truly as herself and not in her cat disguise.
Yoruichi nodded. "Very well then, you are the host after all."
Seconds later the air in the room became thick with spirit energy and a cloud of smoke engulfed Yoruichi. When the cloud cleared, there she stood in her true form; that of a naked dark skinned beautiful woman with long purple hair.
Kūkaku smiled appreciatively at the figure before her. "Still with the theatrics, eh?" she teased.
"Old habits," Yoruichi replied with a shrug. She then smiled. "Is this better?"
Kūkaku nodded. "Much."
Yoruichi retook her seat in front of Kūkaku, sitting Indian style his time. "So."
Kūkaku arched a brow. "So?"
"You're really going to send Ganju with us, eh?"
Kūkaku shugged, for the third time in almost as many minutes. "He's got his mind set on going. You know how much of a stubborn ass he is."
Yoruichi nodded. "Yes, yes. Just like another member of the Shiba family I know."
Kūkaku glared at her friend. "The hell is that supposed to mean?"
"Oh nothing," Yoruichi replied, with her best innocent look.
Kūkaku scoffed. "Nothin' my ass."
A look quickly passed across Yoruichi's face, which Kūkaku instantly recognized.
"You know," Kūkaku, as she placed her pipe down on the floor and blatantly checked Yoruichi out. "I'm sure there's better things we could be doing than talking about what's going to happen tomorrow."
Yoruichi raised a slow eyebrown. "Oh?"
Kūkaku nodded. She was about to sit up and scoot closer to Yoruichi, when there was a bang in the hallway outside of the sitting room. Seconds later, the sounds of running footsteps could be heard, coming towards the room.
"Fuck me!" Kūkaku spat under her breath.
"Maybe next time," Yoruichi said sadly.
She returned to her cat form, just as Ichigo, Orihime, Uryū and Chad burst into the room.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?" Kūkaku yelled at the intruders.
Ichigo, who had had his Zanpakutō out ready for a fight, let the tip drop to the floor. "We - uh - felt spirit energery and thought-"
"GET THE HELL OUT OF MY SITTING ROOM!" Kūkaku yelled.
The four friends quickly turned and ran out, nearly tripping over each other to get out of the line of Kūkaku's rage.
When they were sure the children were gone, Kūkaku turned to Yoruichi and sighed. "Next time?"
Yoruichi nodded.
